Pit Bull Rescue

As a rescue based in rural Howard County, MO., ARFF MO gets asked to help many dogs that are in dire need and/or unsafe situations. For many of these dogs, their lives will be lost if someone does not intervene on their behalf in a timely manner. Many of these dogs are not "pit bulls". We do not turn our backs on any dog that is in need if we have the capability to help get the dog to a safe place. The dogs that are listed as our "Motley Crew" are those "pit bull wannabees" that we have helped in order to save their lives. Their adoption guidelines are the same as those listed above as for our pit bulls.

Most ARFF MO dogs listed on this page require a minimum $125 to $150 adoption fee and a completed adoption application. Adoption fees may vary on certain dogs. All ARFF MO dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated as appropriate for age and micro-chipped. The first step is to fill out an application. You will be contacted by an ARFF MO representative if your application is complete and checks out. If you have another dog, we will require a meet and greet take place on neutral turf so it can be determined if the dogs are a "fit" for each other. The last step is a home check. If everything is good, you will adopt one of our dogs. ARFF MO strives to place dogs into homes where they will happily live out the remainder of their lives. If having a baby or moving is cause for you to consider returning your dog to us, please do not apply for one! This results in a broken hearted dog. We require a fenced yard for our dogs with dog reactivity issues. Please take the time to review our adoption requirements before completing the application.
